Описание растения:

Лелии встречаются в разнообразных природных условиях - в низинных дождевых лесах, в горных лесах на средних высотах, в открытых местообитаниях на полном солнце. Родина большей части наиболее интересных видов - Бразилия, Мексика. Эпифитные виды поселяются на деревьях, а так называемые скальные - на камнях в солнечном месте. Конкретные местообитания указаны в описаниях видов. Мексиканские виды (L. anceps, L. rubescens) процветают на умеренных и средних высотах в горах (выше 'Тьера кальенте') жарких районов морского побережья и ниже холодной субальпийской зоны. Температурный максимум здесь 26 °С, минимум 5 °С. Большинство видов легко приспособляются и хорошо растут в условиях для второй температурной группы. Эти лелии идеально подходят для прохладных и холодных условий. Они типичные эпифиты. Поселяются на разных видах белого дуба на рассеянном свету. В этих регионах обильные осадки выпадают летом, зима холодная с редкими дождями. В сухой сезон растения получают влагу за счет ночных туманов и росы.

Уход за растением:

Уход Laelia Культура Л. крохотной и Л. пурпурной сходна с культурой каттлей:их культивируют в светлом, теплом помещении с температурой летом - 22 - 28°С. В период активного роста необходим обильный полив и опрыскивание. Остальные виды лелии выращивают в умеренно теплом или прохладном помещении с ночной температурой летом 16 - 18°С, зимой 12 - 15 °С. Более, чем многие другие орхидеи, нуждаются в притоке свежего воздуха. Во время роста растения требуют максимум света, особенно в утренние часы, и умеренного полива. По окончании роста, а также после цветения до начала нового роста полив сокращают, но влажность воздуха продолжают поддерживать высокой. Основная ошибка при выращивании лелий излишне теплое содержание этих растений. Выращивают в обычной смеси для эпифитных растений.
Болезни и вредители Laelia. Из вредителей лелии могут поражаться червецами, которые поселяются на нижней поверхности листьев и способствуют появлению черни, а так же тлей.
Размножение Laelia. Размножают делением корневища (в период покоя). Каждая часть должна иметь не менее двух псевдобульб, и одну точку роста.
Применение. Используют как горшечные растения и на срезку.
